ARTA-Orbit Insurance Services Scholarships
The ARTA–ORBIT INSURANCE SERVICES SCHOLARSHIPS are made possible by the generosity of Orbit Insurance Services, a service partner for home and auto insurance. Orbit Insurance Services provides, through ARTA, scholarships for undergraduate students who are related to an ARTA member. These scholarships recognize academic achievement plus community involvement and volunteer work. Future goals, personal accomplishment and supporting letters of reference will also be significant in the overall determination of the scholarship recipients.
CRITERIA
The Scholarship Selection Committee will consider all valid applications. The committee’s decision is final.
The value of the scholarship fund is dispersed as follows:
$5,000.00 (up to eight will be awarded)
Applications are accepted from direct relatives (children, grandchildren, 1st and 2nd generation nieces and nephews) who are sponsored by current ARTA members.
The scholarships are limited to those applicants who have successfully completed the first, second or third year of an undergraduate or transfer program leading to a first degree or to those who have completed one or more full years of a certificate/diploma program provided by an accredited post-secondary institution.
A certified and official transcript (signed by the registrar) from the post-secondary institution must accompany the application prior to the application deadline.
Applicants must be registered for the following year of their program.
Applicants must supply two letters of reference.
References are to be provided through our online scholarship platform (letters submitted separately via email, etc. will not be accepted) and must be received prior to the application deadline.
Choose your references wisely. Reference letters should provide a broad scope of the applicant's academic standing and community involvement.
Contact information with the name, address, telephone number and email address of each reference must be included. The selection committee reserves the right to contact references.
References are limited to a maximum of 500 words.
ARTA must receive applications no later than July 31 of the current year.
Scholarship applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by September 15 of the current year. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
Applicants who have previously received an ARTA101 or ARTA Scholarship do not qualify for a subsequent scholarship.
